Subway trains going fast
Noisily speeding past
Me
A small bird in the sky
Soars up high
Away - away from all of this
The kids on the streets
With no shoes for their feet
Cry
There’s too many cars
And way too many bars
Here
I’m not sure of my way
Nor of what to say
I’m lost
I don’t want to stay
I want to go far away
Like the little bird
I miss all the trees
The smell of fresh-cut grass on the breeze
