The Old Witch Lady

There’s a scowl on your face and your heart’s hard as stone -
It’s no wonder you’re living your life all alone.
Others hold each other close as the nights grow cold -
You just lay in your bed alone, fading, growing old.
You do your magick by a midnight fire -
Chanting for your heart’s desire.
But try as you may, you can’t bring back the dead -
You’ll just have to entertain memories of him in your head.
You blame the world for your bitter heart -
Even though you know it was your fault from the start.
The people of the town shun you -
And they teach their children to run from you.
They say that you’re dangerous, evil - Satan’s right hand -
And that you make curses with your herbs, crystals, oils and sands.
No one knows, and no one cares to know that you’re just lonely -
Trying to find some way, any way, to bring back your one and only.
You’re just a normal woman, who’s lover has been lost -
And like any normal woman, you’re trying to get him back at any cost.
Each day you mourn by the grave of your dear departed lover -
Wishing and wanting... That love was something you could rediscover.
I adored reading this.
Well done, beautiful :)
