I might work on this some, polish it up... But I dunno.
I thought of it in the shower, and I like idea of it.

You're an Insect to Me
Copyright © Jennifer J. Radford

You keep invading my dreams...
Unwelcome, like a parasite.
Eating away at my emotions;
My own personal termite.

You make my skin crawl
And itch, like a bug’s bite.
Never leaving me in peace,
Not in the day, nor night.

You won’t leave me alone;
Always there, such a pest.
And to think, once upon a time,
I thought you were the best.

I wished you’d go away...
And stop bothering me so.
But the more I tell you to,
The more you just won’t go.

I swear to God, you’re like a bug...
A nuisance, a curse, a bad break.
All the words you’ve ever told me,
They were all so very fake.

I’m done with this, and done with you.
This is the last time, go away.
Oh, you don’t understand?
Let me put it another way...

I wish I could squash you.
Can’t you see?
I want you gone for good.
All you are is an insect to me.
