Continuation of Hunter Story

Anthony Wu watched in awe as the vampire hunters set off to complete their work. Bullets flew in all directions as the hunters shot off their rounds. Their bullets illuminated a white aura, suggesting a holy presence. The vampires came in dozens, and the hunters did all they could to fend them off. Anthony stared in horror as vampires fell, only to stand right back up as they fell.

“What in the Lord’s name...?” Anthony whispered.

“They don’t die so easily.” Drake said to him.

“Drake, protect our new friend. I’m going in.” The lead vampire hunter said curtly. Without even waiting for a response, he strode off.

“Sir, yes sir!” Drake responded. The young man had walked into the roaring battle casually. Nothing slowed his pace as he walked in. Vampires charged at him from left and right, at an unnatural speed. But, almost as casually as he walked in, he drew out his sword from its sheath.

SLASH! The man whipped his sword in a single slash, and instantly, the vampires fell. But unlike the other vampire hunters, the young man’s victims did not get up. They laid out onto the ground never to rise again.

“Who...who is he?” Anthony stood flabbergasted. This young man had to be something else. A half breed, or a something else. Anthony didn’t know if they actually hunted vampires, but he had heard stories.

“That man is Ayden Cross. I’ve never met a vampire hunter like him.”

“He fights like a demon. What is he? Is he-?”

“No, he’s human. Not a drop of vampire blood in him. But he does fight like one. He’s incredibly powerful. He’s matched a vampire in strength before. I don’t know what on Earth could possess a young man to do what he can do. He started this group two years ago. I’m not sure what he’s looking for, but I don’t think he’ll stop until he gets it.”

“Ayden...” Anthony said quietly.
A tall handsome vampire leapt upon a beautiful young hunter with a look of lust. He engaged into a battle with her, and it was a rapid pace battle. She drew out a silver stake, trying desperately to drive it into her aggressor’s chest. He fought with incredible speed, and it wasn’t long until he gained the upper hand. He sank his teeth deep into her neck and feasted on her blood.

It was true, that the vampires were winning. Some vampire hunters were doing fairly well, but mainly the demons of the night were clearly gaining a lead. Yet, the feeling soon deteriorated as Ayden stalked the battleground.

Ayden slew vampires instantly as they approached. An eerie calm was on his face, depicting that he had done this many times before. The other hunters huddled around together, trying to regroup. Yet, suddenly, the mere sight of Ayden instantly gave them more resolve to continue.

“Ayden’s joined us! Let’s kick some ass!” A hunter bellowed with excitement. He was a jovial looking hunter, with a large tuft of hair curled into an afro. He was known as Joe.

Bouncer, a younger hunter pulled back his pistol and drew out his own sword. He saw a vampire advance towards him, but disappear from his sight. He looked around. Nothing. No sign of anyone.

A pair of hands grabbed Bouncer’s shoulders’ and pulled him back. A pair of fangs instantly tried to sink into his neck. Bouncer screamed, but the hands immediately pulled and the vampire screamed in agony. Bouncer turned around and saw the vampire had a silver stake imbedded into its face. Red blood flowed from it wound as it trashed about wildly. Bouncer took this opportunity to slay in by thrusting his sword into its heart. The vampire gave one last death trash, then ceased to move. Bouncer turned to thank his savior. He faced Ayden. He pumped his arm towards him and smiled.

“Thanks!”

Ayden nodded in return. He returned to fighting, when he saw a hooded figure in the woods, watching them fight in the snow.

“...Huh?” Ayden wondered. His curiosity and intuition told him it was something worth going after. And secretly, he had a pretty good idea of who it could be. He glared around at his surroundings. The snow gave the figure an advantage. Ayden sheathed his sword. He called back to Bouncer, he had made his decision.

“Bouncer, you’re in charge now! I’m heading off.”

“Sir? What are you doing?” Bouncer responded with uncertainty.

“It’s alright. Just...don’t wait up.” Ayden said curtly.

“Yes sir. I understand.” Ayden soon took off dashing at an incredible speed. The hunters soon noticed and began firing off questions.

“Where’s he going?”

“He’s leaving!”

“Aww, man...” They each voiced their frustrations. But Bouncer took heed of Ayden’s words and took charge like he was commanded to.

“Hey, hold your ground! Change to offensive maneuver seven!”

“Uh, I think I know that one.” Joe said as they began changing their location to form a more organized one.

“Where’s Ayden going? Is he leaving us?” Anthony asked Drake with worry.

“Calm down, he wouldn’t have left us unless he was sure we could handle it. But we sure could use him.” Drake responded nervously.

“Why did he just take off like that?” Anthony mused.

The hunters gathered into a mass, facing the vampire mob. A stand off took place, and they stared squarely into eyes of their enemies with unparalleled hatred. More vampires joined the mob, but some left to follow after the lone hunter, Ayden.

“There’s so many...” Anthony whispered.

Joe snickered, then bellowed, “I love the numbers!” With that, both sides charged at each other, determined to win.

Ayden dashed closer to the hooded figure in an anxious manner. It wasn’t normally like him, but he was drawn to this person in a very urgent way. Almost like, an old calling.

Ayden drew sluggish in the snow, but decided that, he was going to see this person, no matter what. He was seen, and the hooded figure took off. Upon noticing this, Ayden’s resolve grew.

“I’m coming...”

To be continued. Again.
