I have a dream
and in it I am happy
there's no such thing as pain
and in it I am laughing
cause in truth, we're all the same
I have a dream
and in it I'm surrounded
by people that I love
and lost until I'm found by
the people that I trust


And I wake up and now my eyes
know just how dark this life can be
and no matter how I try
I can't retrieve my fantasy
within my dreams, locked away in vain
hopeless ideals trembling and searing through my brain
