Objectivism Vs. Equality

Can they walk hand in hand? Equality would say yes while objectivism would say no. Looking at these two philosophies there are so many noticeable differences that it would seem like forever wouldn’t be long enough for them to agree on anything. However, the vast difference could in fact, be a linking attribute for both.

Objectivism is built on the basis of moral selfishness. All things live first and foremost for themselves and everything else is second place. They rely on others only to get themselves ahead, using people as stepping stones in their own advancement. Many people are against this sort of philosophy because it makes them look bad but in essence by playing themselves up as caring people, they are using others naivety to move forward in life. When it’s all boiled down, denying objectivism and embracing equality is in fact, proving the mechanics of objectivism.

Equality may be classified as part of objectivism because of this. This is based o the theory that all tings are equal but such a theory, while embraced, is hard for people to accept. Everyone wants to be better than somebody, it’s human nature to excel. This pursuit of excellence is one of the building blocks of objectivism.

Human’s like to believe that we are the superior beings on the planet. This is promoting objectivism but who can deny our superiority? We have brains, a conscience, skills, technology, etc. What other “inferior” organisms even come close to challenging these? Some say that these “inferior” creatures have the most efficient counter characteristic however and that it is their simplicity. Compared to humans water is a simple organism yet where are we without water? Tree’s are fairly simple but where would or technology be without wood? For us to be relying so heavily on such “substandard” objects does not logically make us superior. In fact, if we based superiority on how many other life forms rely on a certain organism we would be one of the, if not the most inferior being on the planet. If a person was to follow this train of thought then it’s impossible to conceive of equality, at least where humans are concerned.

All beings follow their natural instincts to survive and will do anything to accomplish this. This promotes objectivism. Human’s will hold themselves above all other creatures and label themselves superior yet continue to promote equality. The logic in this is failing to connect. We deny human nature and then contradict our own views? Humans as a whole obviously have some serious reconsidering to do, at least when it comes to some of their major philosophies.
