You took something precious from me,
You took my heart
Crushed it.
Maimed it.
Beyond recognition
It’s hard to see now,
Blinded by tears

I sacrificed for you
And it confirmed my worst fears.
You used me
Abused my heart
You said it hurt
You said it was killing you
But was it?

If it was, you wouldn’t have done it
The way you did
Not man enough to tell it to my face
Not to a phone either
But rather through it
Through words typed
On a lit keypad
What a wimp.

Men don’t know what they do to us
They don’t understand
But they should because it mar’s the soul
Forever; and I don’t know
If I’ll ever recover.
