My cat's nose is so short and cute.
It lies somewhat flat on his face
and flares out in two little wings,
like those pins they give to pilots.


It's lightish grey,
just like the rest of him,
and is as large as the tip of my baby finger.

Sometimes it gets runny,
sometimes it's warm and dry,
sometimes it's cold and damp,
pressed up againct my cheek.

His fur grows right up against his nose,
but don't let me get sidetracked by his whiskers!
If you touch his nose while he's sleeping,
he'll curl a paw protectively over it.

But if you try that when he's awake,
he'll leave you with scars.

The only problem with his nose,
is how close it is to his mouth,
which is also cute,
in a sharp and frightening sort of way…

But that nose, when it's
twitching,
     sniffing,
         sneezing,
and looking so sweet!

I can't get enough of it!
I want to scream with delight!

He has a thing for noses too,
and likes to chew on mine,
when he's feeling happy.

Before him,
I never knew how tender noses were.

How wonderful.
