My name is Nadia, I’m eleven years old. I’m in Year Six, and soon I will be going to the “big” school. By “big” school, I mean our local high school; it’s called Queen Mary’s. In fact, I’m there right now, on a day trip with my classmates. We’re in an IT suite, and the instructions the teacher has given us are to write about our day so far here at the new, “exciting“, “big“, school. Obviously, children of eleven years old could have nothing more interesting to write about than their day so far. But I’d rather tell you about other things. About my trip to the shady, stygian groves that lurk beyond the river Styx; where the echoes of those long dead wander forever in the gloom and murk of Hades; and the cries of the tortured mingle into a bitter, sweet melody the likes of which no living person has ever heard. Or perhaps I should tell you of my visit to the howling plains of Aragg’thor, where the accursed whining of the song-goddess Serran-ra drives the inhabitants into mindless frenzies of dancing and blood-shed. Or yet again, I could tell you of more pleasant times, of my trip to the Sacred forests of Sleep that lie on the borders of your consciousness. There the sweet nectar of well-earned rest closes the lids of all those who dwell too long, presenting them with the greatest gift a god can bestow upon a mortal: blissful eternal sleep.

Then again, I could just tell you what I had for breakfast.
