Gold and silver twins are a rarity in their own right, capable of performing the deepest magic. When on winter day such twins were born unto the royal family there were celebrations lasting throughout the following days. The queen named them on the third day, as was the custom. They were brought out, wrapped in cloth, for the whole city to behold, and to show all that they were equal they were named at the same time. But equality never lasts, and men, in their foolishness, value gold over silver. As such, a strange fate was to be the future of the Silver twin.

As is the will of magicians above that of mortal men, so is the will of the mother Gaia above all others. Sometimes her plans are unclear to our eyes, and only faith and trust will let us persevere.

On the fourth night, as the city ay sleeping, an ethereal figure crept through the night, stealing silently towards the bedchambers of the newly born twins. The guards did not stir, nor flinch as the shaded figure past them.

The room which held the two girls, was cool in the night, no footsteps were made as the stranger of the night stole past the gold twin. He stopped over the silver twin, gazing down at her. And she gazed back. No sound did either make as she was lifted from her bed and out into the night.
