Many of the bold warriors carried special trinkets with them, or uniquely adorned their armor with special symbol engravingts, many of family crests, many others with depictions of dragons. Indeed, this regiment was renowned for having the might and valour of a dragon. Each soldier was capable of impossible leaps and bounds, flying through the air, throwing and twirling their spears, raining grey death upon their enemies.
The scout watched them make camp, quivering with dismay. He had much to report to the Elven Council. The humans' elite dragoon corps was on its way to the Elven borders. They had to arm and mobilize their reserve force of Wyvern Riders immediately.

No human had ever penetrated this far into Elven territory safely, but the best hunter of the Tracking Guild had managed well so far, and what he saw was well worth the risk. The Elves felt the impending threat of the Dragoon Corps, apparently, for the Wyvern Guild had been assembled and prepared already. Awe, rather than fear, filled the ranger at the sight of the Elves' most potent fighters.
The slender beasts living in the guild headquarters, the Wyverns, were stunning. Of all colors, the beasts were clearly agile, their scales sparkled in the early sunlight, and the air shimmered around them, revealing an aura of focused magic. The riders themselves possessed the same aura. Flying over battlefields, these mages hurled magic bolts and cast spells of all degrees. The Wyverns posessed great protective magic, as well as a devastating flame breath.
Many of the riders carried with them the same amulet, the tracker noted. Most likely the intricate necklace was a protective ward as much as it was a symbol of the Guild. The tracker smiled grimly. The Dragoons and Wyvern Riders hadn't fought each other before, despite the long years of war behind them both. Perhaps now the war would come to a climax. The Dragoons certainly had met their match, at last. It would be a battle to make songs of.
