A weird romance poem. A rich man is in love with a peasant girl, and she doesn't return his feelings.
Princess, You Are Mine
Face pressed
Against cold hard bars
Caged
Like an Animal
Trapped
Delicate patterns
Created by slithers of light
Filtering through
Intricate metal soldered patiently together
Old and ancient
Still strong enough
To serve its purpose
Not enough light
To see the details of the room
But plenty
To paint a pattern
On old fashioned tiled floors
Long and thin
Lit by a single lamp
Lacking all signs of comfort
Excepting a worn
Arm chair and dresser
Ladder to the bed room
Older than the room itself
But a recent addition
To this muddled environment
The bed above the room
Small and narrow and hard and cold
No light in the attic
No need for light when sleep comes knocking on your door
Face pressed
Against cold brittle glass
Reflection
On a life like this
The life on a peasant girl
Too beautiful for her own good
Kidnapped by Power
Trapped by Wealth
Lust for outside
Lust for warmth
Lust for love
Overwhelming the peasant girl
A pet
Keep locked in a cage
Don't run away
Your Mine
My Precious
Princess
especially the lust part
