but I call myself Peregrine.
I'm young, but sometimes I feel ancient.
My eyes are every shade of brown, my skin is golden.
My voice is low and loose, my hair is light brown.
My lips are full and I smile sincerely.
My heart has wings.
I have my grandfather's eyes;
he died young.
I have my mother's skin;
she withered on the vine.
My voice is my own but I don't always need it
because sometimes I have nothing to say.
I like early mornings; I like late summer.
I like the smell of prairie and the sound of accoustic guitars.
I like the kind of endings where
the hero walks off into the sunset.
I like empty city streets at night.
I like mountains in the distance.
I like the taste of honey and
euphoric storms.
I think everyone moves too fast;
I think everyone moves too slow.
I think everyone should dream every night
and remember it.
I think Fate's a joke and love it.
I think the Beginning's beautiful but
the End is my favorite part
(because) it's another Beginning.
I think everyone should take it easy for a while.
I think everyone should take it easy for a while.
My name is Amanda Horn
but I call myself Peregrine.
I'm young and I'm ancient:
my eyes have watched the world die, my skin has touched the sky.
My voice is mine: I use it or not.
I cry all the time, I laugh all the time.
When I smile it's sincere
and my heart has wings.
I noticed how with your lyrics you take the bridge or the last chorus and mold it into a summary of the whole thing, and each line seems to mean something different and pop out.
Especially this one, where you're simply talking about yourself in any way you understand. ^.^
