One of the practice rooms had these tall windows facing the street. There were no blinds or curtains on them, and we discovered that when we turned off the lights and stood in the sills, bitter streetlight would pour through those windows and perfectly project our shadows on the far wall.
We would stand on these windowsills, waving our arms or dancing or leaping from side to side, striking dramatic poses. We enacted several fights in out shadow theatre, backed by the cold glass, streetlights, marquis, headlights and neon signs. It was Saturday night.
And now, weeks later, i'm waking up with the image of that shadow theatre.
