Write what
By Paula, based off the poem "What Then?" by William Butler Yeats


Her chosen comrades thought at school
she must grow a writer to be
she thought in other flourishing ways
all her moments filled with scribbling
"Write what?" chimed her mother's urging "Write what?"


All her writings great and small
Lined the eves of her mind
a thousand ideas filling them all
but still her mother's voice pricked
"Write what?" she whispered "Write what?"


Her life went on and experience grew
A cherished soul she found to love
and wrote to him all she knew
but still her mother's words rang true
"Write what?" she breathed "Write what?"
