Quieted
Rejected conscience
Turn that racket down
That Chopin on tape.
Awkward moments by the stereo
Morals repressed
By the generation now.
"Heaven-" outspoken
By death
And the scorned proclaimed virgin.
How dare she be "traditional"?
How dare she announce her ways
As if she’s holier than others.
Let there be an Anti-Valentine
(Come buy your Anti-Valentine
There always is.
But also let there be a Valentine’s Day
(Come buy your Valentine’s Day chocolates!)
Just Valentine’s.
Let there be their way
But also let there be other ways.
Progressive,
Open-minded,
Modern and empathetic,
But you're only swinging the pendulum.
Love all,
But kill those that oppose
(if only in spirit);
Accept all,
But hush those that are “normal”.
It is a beautiful mosaic,
Once the white pieces are cut out.
(Those damn dead weights—
Holding back the future and vision)
Cyber generation,
I am of thee
But you have purged yourself of me.
