Workhorse

(Free Verse)

Orange balloon
You celebrate much
Out in the sun
Down on the sidewalk

Gray-black street
Moving under me
Separating nature
Pushing life forward

Colors, cars,
Racing by me
Angry faces
But balloon floats quietly

Suddenly severed
Wind will guide you
Tossed in a sea
of miles per hour

We can't stop
or can we?
We won't stop
Our pounding hooves
