“It’s got a bit of a . . .tangy taste.” Was all the blond could choke out.
The younger brunette beside her frowned, the fuchia lipstick adding a drastic touch. “You don’t like your gift? I made it especially for you, Tara.”
“You really shouldn’t have Loraine.” Tara replied weakly, trying to hold the glass of alien-looking liquid as far from her nose as possible without being rude. “You really, REALLY shouldn’t have.”
“It was the least I could do after you helped to avenge the wrong done to me.”
Tara fought from rolling her eyes at the drama teen, still trying to think up a way to get rid of the foul liquid without upsetting her younger cousin. ‘Wonder if it would come out of the couch if I stashed it there till she leaves?
“I know! I’ll make us some popcorn while you enjoy your Aine-pol Surprise!” Loraine cried jumping off the couch.
“Aine-pol Surprise?”
Nodding, the girl made her way to the kitchen. “That’s what I named it! Every great creation has a name!”
Taking the opportunity while she was gone, Tara began looking for somewhere to hide the nasty drink. ‘Maybe behind the curtain?’
“So how are things going with you and that Aaron Mill dude?”
Tara jumped as the other girl stuck her head back into the room, almost spilling the drink.
“He has a girlfriend now.” Was the blond’s reply.
“That’s too bad. He was hott to!” Loraine disappeared into the kitchen again as the microwave went off.
‘Gotta find somewhere now! She’ll be back any second!
“Tara would you like butter on . . .” Loraine stopped in the doorway when she saw the other girl. “Hey, what just happened to your drink?”
“Oh, um, I already finished it!”
“What happened to the glass?”
“Oh, er, the uhh” Tara racked her brain, sweat beginning to form on her palms. “The hamster must have gotten loose cause I put the empty glass down for one second and when I looked back he was rolling away in it and he looked like he was having such a good time I didn’t want to take him out of it.”
“Oh . . . ok” Loraine disappeared again, allowing Tara to let out the breath she had been holding.
’I can’t believe she just bought that load of bull!’
“Not to worry! I made enough to last us all day!” Loraine beamed, bouncing back into the room with the popcorn and another glass full.
“ . . . great . . .”

2006-06-23 Nell: Eeek! I loved it! Lots of fun...poor Tara.

I think you meant glass instead of class of alien-looking liquid. It had me confused for a moment...

2006-06-23 Child of God: ^-^' Hehe, oops. Thanks for pointing that out!
