Early Monday morning, Angel Takahashi sat at her desk, looking over some paperwork that had been dumped on her. She looked idly at the paper, then to her laptop screen. Nine o'clock. She sighed softly and leaned back in her chair, listening to the commotion going on outside. Angel slowly started to close her eyes, when suddenly; she heard the voice of someone non-mistaken to her ears.

"Where the hell is Angel, miss?" The familiar voice had said.

"I...I don't know, sir," said the desk lady.

"Alright miss, seeing as you don't know, I guess I'll just try to find her myself. If you hear smashing, don't blame me," the voice had said again. Angel opened the door and stepped out of the office, leaning against the doorframe.

"Sir, if you want you can make an appointment, and come back later," said the desk lady.

"Fuck the appointment, I'm her ally, I should be able to have access when I feel the need to," said the man, stealing the key off her desk, unlocked the gateway, and walking towards where he spotted Angel.

"Well, Dante, rambunctious today, aren't we?" she smiled at the man called Dante. Dante was an average sized man. He stood five feet, eight inches tall, soft white hair, muscular build, and pale-blue eyes.

"Very funny, Angel, think of that one on your own?" asked Dante

"Nope, read it off your shirt," Angel said, smirking softly, noticing that Dante wearing a sleeveless, black shirt, with no wording on it at all. "Step into my office."

Dante moved past Angel, his arms crossed over his chest. Angel followed in after him, and shut the door behind her.

"So, Dante, why have you decided to step down here?" Angel asked, as she watched Dante walk behind her desk, and sit down, seeing as it was the only comfortable chair in the room.

"I wanted to keep the earthlings on their toes. I figured ask Matt, but I remember almost every time that he’s only chicken shit, so I might as well ask you, got a problem with it, Angel?" Dante asked, smirking.

"No, of course I don't have a problem with it," Angel replied leaning against the door. "It's just I don't get off until lunch break, around twelve, and my shift doesn't end until eight."

"One more thing, just why are you wasting all that energy on pathetic human's work? I swear, it's like you've become one of them," said Dante. With a smirk, he held up his right hand and focused the energy towards a stack of paperwork on the desk.

"It's the only job that pays well enough to where I can still support house hold," Angel said, eyeing Dante with his ki ball. "Besides, I pay the mortgage on the manor, and buy the food. Plus if it wasn't for that loaf of a brother of yours, I probably wouldn't need this job." Angel watched as Dante had sent the ki ball into the stack of papers, watching them scatter and set a flame.

"Aiee, Dante," Angel said. Dante laughed watching the papers burn. Angel then snapped her fingers, the paperwork returning to what it was like before Dante decided to make "pretty fireworks". There was a sudden knock at the door, and the sent of burning paper could still be smelled within her office.

"God damn it," Angel said under her breath. She turned toward the door and called out. "Who is it?"

"It's Bliss, Angel," said a female voice. Angel rolled her eyes a bit. Bliss Misizouski was Angel's partner in the Homicide Department.

"Alright, Dante, my partner's here, get home, and I'll meet you there later," Angel said to Dante. Dante smirked as he looked to Angel.

"Oh, so I guess you are taken after all, don't worry, I wouldn't want to be in the way, I'll see you at the manor...if you don't decide to go to their place instead," he said.

"Oh fuck you, Dante," Angel said laughing, as she lifted her right middle finger upwards. Dante moved his own middle finger under his right eye, pulled down and stuck out his tongue. Both laughed, and then soon after, Dante had flickered away. Angel opened the door, and looked at Bliss. Bliss was much shorter than Angel. Only standing around five feet, five inches tall. Mid-back length, pitch-black hair, with light blue eyes and pale skin. She had high cheeks bones, slightly rosy, and blood red lips that looked almost poisonous. Angel looked down at Bliss, a slight smile on her face.

"Hello, Bliss, how are you?" asked Angel politely.

"I'm good," Bliss replied. "Whom were you taking to?"

"Myself," Angel said. She knew there was something different about Bliss, than there was with anyone else in the department. Angel might have stopped using her magic for five years, but she could still sense energy waves, and Bliss' energy waves were not normal.

"So," Angel began. "What was it you wanted to talk to me about?"

"May I step into your office?" Bliss asked. Angel nodded, and Bliss walked in. Angel shut the door, and waited for Bliss to begin talking.

"Okay, well, I just got a hit on the case we're working on," Bliss said, turning to face Angel as she handed her the folder. "It seems our killer is like a vampire, or something. Because we've checked all the victims that were attacked, and there were bite marks, or whatever, and blood was drained from each of their bodies."

Angel nodded slightly as she looked over the profile. She then looked up at Bliss, as Bliss continued.

"There seems to be nothing in common with the victims, except all of them are negative O blood," Bliss continued. "And that they were that of royal decedents. Do you by any chance know someone by the name of Dante Sparda?"

Angel cocked her head slightly off to the right, arching her left brow. "We live together in the manor," Angel said slowly.

"Well, it seems like he's next," Bliss said. "I advise you keep him safe."
Suddenly, Angel started laughing, to a point where she nearly lost her balance. Bliss looked oddly at Angel, nearly shocked.

"Why the hell are you laughing, Angel?" Bliss asked.

"Oh, oh nothing," said Angel, wiping the tears that had come from her laughing. "I don't think we'll need to worry about Dante."

Angel walked out of the building, and into the parking lot. She dug around in her pockets until she found her keys, and unlocked the door. Behind her, she heard the shuffling of feet, and turned around to see who it was.

"Sergeant Takahashi, hello," said a middle aged man. He was slightly shorter than Angel, by five inches, was a bit large, and had dark hair, mustache and beard.

Angel smiled kindly to the man.

"Hello, General Argus, how are you this evening?" Angel said.

"It's six-thirty, time to head home, I'm beat," General Argus stated.

"Yes, it is a bit late," Angel said, chuckling softly.

"Indeed, quite a long--" General Argus was cut off by a loud banging, and out of reaction, Angel had pulled her pistol from her holster and fired it in the direction as to where she had heard the gun, which, unfortunately, was behind General Argus. She heard a loud scream, then a soft thump, and afterwards, without putting her gun away, she knelt down and began to shake General Argus some.

"General! Get up!" Angel shouted. She looked, and noticed a bullet hole in the General's head, blood seeping everywhere. She cursed under her breath, and before she could say anything else, she felt two large hands grab her, and throw her down. It was one of the cops from the 27th precinct, Officer Wright.

"Wright, get off of me!” Angel demanded, as she felt handcuffs being locked into place.

"I just saw you kill the general!" Officer Wright stated. He lifted Angel to her feet, and gave her rights. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to be advised by an attorney before answering any questions. If you desire an attorney and cannot afford one, one will be appointed for you free of charge."

Meanwhile, back at the manor, Dante trained himself in the gravity room, and Matt in the kitchen, munching on some treats, watching a bit of T.V. The telephone rang, and Matt went over to pick it up.

"Hello?" Matt said.

"Matt, hey, I don't have time to explain, but come down to Amnesty Prison," Angel said.

"What, why?" Matt asked, in an almost alert tone.

"I'll tell you everything when you get here," Angel said, and hung up the phone, as the guard told her time was up.

Angel waited almost an hour before anyone showed up, and her visitor was someone least expected.

"I wonder how you could've gotten into this predicament," Bliss said, smirking lightly.

"I wonder the same thing," Angel said dully. "Almost staged."

"Seems like it," Bliss said. "You've been on the force since training, and you're only, how old?"

"Thirty," Angel said, leaning back against the chair she was sitting in. Her crystal blue eyes look into Bliss' light blue ones, and seemed to lock there for what seemed like several minutes, until Bliss looked away.

"You told Officer Wright, on the way here, that someone shot General Argus, correct?" Bliss asked, avoiding angel's eyes.

"Yes, I told Officer Wright that I heard a gun go off, and shot down the perpetrator, but no one seems to believe me, since I shot the bullet past the general's head, and towards the guy that had originally killed the general, and due to the reasoning as to why I had my gun out, made the problem worse, and lets not forget my finger prints and his blood on me," Angel explained, sighing heavily.

"Interesting," Bliss said, as she jotted some key thoughts down.

"You really are annoying," Angel suddenly blurted out. Bliss looked up from her notes and glared at Angel.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Bliss asked.

"You're only an LT, and you're stuck with me, but all you do is wander around aimlessly, and jot down unimportant words, and thoughts," Angel said, cocking her head to the left some. Bliss stood up abruptly.

"I will not take that kind of trash talk from you, Sergeant Takahashi," Bliss said irritably, and stormed off. Angel began to stand up, until the guard informed her that she had another visitor. It was Matt this time. Matt sat down across the table, and looked at Angel.

"What happened?" Matt questioned first.

"Frame," Angel simply stated.

"What? How?" Matt asked, in a slight worried tone.

"An officer thought I murdered someone," said Angel, shrugging.

"That's horrible," said Matt. "Are you on bail? Because if you are, I'll get the money."

"I have a pre-trial tomorrow, to discuss my standing, and if I'm on bail, I'll let you know, and if not, I'll be staying till my grand trial and see where my sentence is," said Angel, inhaling deeply.

"Why not use a bit of that magic of yours to get you out of this?" asked Matt.

"Sh-h! Keep your voice down about that, Matt," said Angel, leaning on the table. Her voice went to a whisper. "I haven't used my magic in years, because of the problems I had with it. This is a consequence I'll have to take as a human would."

"Why go through all the trouble?" asked Matt.

"Because I'm just that stubborn," said Angel.

"All right, Sir, visitation hours are over," said the guard. Matt cursed under his breath, and stood up, along with Angel. Angel extended her hand, Matt did the same, and they shook each other’s hands, saying their good-byes.


The next day had followed; Angel was getting ready for her pre-trial. Her lawyer, Mr. Kevin Malloy walked into the cell.
"Good morning, Sergeant Takahashi," Mr. Malloy said.

"Please, call me either Miss Takahashi, or Angel," said Angel. "It's most likely I'll get my rank revoked."

"All right, Miss Takahashi," said Mr. Malloy. "We'll be pleading you not guilty, and hope we can argue a way out of this."

"That sounds reassuring," said Angel sarcastically.

"No time for remarks, Miss Takahashi," said Mr. Malloy.

"Sorry," said Angel, politely. The door opened, and the bailiff stepped in.

"Are you two ready?" the bailiff asked.

"Yes, sir, we are," said Mr. Malloy.

Angel and Mr. Malloy made their way into the courtroom. The judge was seated in his seat as he looked at Mr. Malloy, Angel, and the counselor, Mrs. Seound.

"Case one-one-one-seven-eight-one-two," the bailiff read out, as he handed the case sheet to the judge.

"I see, and how does the defendant plead?" asked the judge.

"Not guilty, you’re Honor," said Mr. Malloy.

"Your Honor, Angel Takahashi was caught with a gun in her hand, aimed at General Argus, and fired," Mrs. Seound stated.

"My client was only trying to stop the shooter from killing the general, Your Honor, I see this as defense of a civilian," Mr. Malloy argued.

"We at least asked that the defendant be put on bail, of three-million dollars," said Mrs. Seound.

"There's no reason to set my client on bail," Mr. Malloy said. "She was only doing her duty, as she was trained to do."

"Hmm, all right, the bail is set at one-million dollars, nothing more," the judge said, as he closed the argument with wood meeting wood.
