[Fox_Child]: 439.My Poetry.Why Artists Don't Write Poems
Rating: 0.00
And I didn’t know what to do
So I wrote a poem about a poem
That is wrote from me to you
I didn’t know where to start
Maybe rhythm, or rather rhyme
A Sonnet, Sestina and Limericks too
There is simply too much to choose
Poe, Silverstein, and Shakespeare
Hughes, Lorde and those deep, dreary, blues
Much to draw inspiration from
And much to utterly refuse
So here’s a poem about a poem
Or rather just poetry
I guess that’s what you get
When you ask an artist to write a poem
Line, Form, Color
Value, Texture, Style
The way the pencil dulls with each stroke
The way the ink bleeds in the grains
The way each bend and twist makes a picture
These are the things that I know well
You might not get a masterpiece
But hey, at least I can mat
So leave the poetry to the poets
And the art to the artists
Because all this drama belongs to the actors
