Why do this to me?
Why ignore my plea?
You never knew it,
But I cherished you.

How could you do this?
How could you take away my bliss?
Leaving me in an endless pit,
What I’m telling you is true.

When did your kindness end?
When did I lose a friend?
You may not notice a bit,
But I’m telling you I do.

Where did your mind go?
Where did your thoughts blow?
I hope I’m not losing my wit,
But the truth is I never knew.

Who did we become?
Who’s beating the fatal drum?
I’m starting to feel unfit,
To the privilege of making it through.

What happened, my kith?
What made “soul” a myth?
That, which had once been lit,
Now a forever darkened view.
