Moolight Visitor

A cat peering in the window
face two glass inches from my face
fur white as the snow
behind her
patches of brown
like the moonshadows on my yard
eyes of lamplight yellow
meet mine
startled and wide
after a heartbeat
that seems like eternity
she turns tail
and flies into the snow

I wrote this when I saw a cat outside my window at night in the snow. Although you may have guessed that from the poem.
