This is, quite possibly, the first rhyming poem I have ever written. It may be the last.

Don’t go farther inland,
you’re crazy. Not me.
I plan to go east
and live by the sea.
In a weathered old shack
where I don’t plan to stay.
I’ll write through the night,
and sail through the day.
On a two masted vessel
with a world-weary crew.
I may not be healthy,
but more contented than you.
With spray on my face
and salt in my hair,
when you smell ocean wind,
you know I’ll be there.
Soaring through tempests
and crashing through brine.
The sea can be scary,
but she’s something that’s mine.
With ghost ships and battles
and dangers galore,
I can’t live in the present,
I’m a history whore.
So whistle a shanty
and jig to a tune,
for the waves they be rocking
I’m drunk at high noon.
A pirate needs storm clouds
and the grey of the sea.
A pirate’s adventure
lets a pirate be free.

2007-06-28 --------: in the first few lines i nearly stoped reading
tbh, im quite glad i didnt
i normally find rhyming poetry dull
but anyway
well done, i really liked it
