Reptila. The sprawling capital of Komodina. Kog had never been here before, but had always dreamed of doing so. As they entered the gates, they were flanked by two komodo dragons in full Reptila Armour.
They were followed as such to the glittering palace.
Suddenly, Caesersalad spoke for the first time in hours.
“This is where we are going to get your,” he coughed, “’Gear’” he said with a wry smile. They crossed the palace floor, into a separate room, the door outside of the room was a large oak door with an intricate brass handle, and which bore a golden plaque in the center of the door, which stated this was the ‘prep room’.
The heavy wooden door slammed shut behind them.
Kog stared at the walls, which now encased him. The walls with portraits depicting the past (great) actions of past reptilians from Godzilla the great for his heroic in his battle of B-Day to the latest addition of the lion of heroes, Alfazar the Moth slayer and his trusting sidekick Buffy, who’s due to have a documentary released on TV about her. Although the lizard population fear it’s not going to be very accurate.
Kog took in the whole room, it was immense, at least 100 feet high, and 300 feet long, and there were countless reptilians moving through the adjacent rooms going about their daily business.
Caesersalad walked on purposefully and Kog followed in a dream-like state.
They entered one of the adjacent rooms, and Kog halted in his tracks.
The room was filled with Sparrow Skulls, which were shaped into skulls. Caesersalad hooked down one of the skulls and threw it over to Kog.
Kog caught the Skull and walked down the length of the room to where Caesersalad was standing.
Caesersalad was pondering over a set of firearms. He picked up a magnum 44 and passed the holster to Kog.
“That’s the most powerful hand gun in Komodina and probably the world. This can, and will, blow up a wall.”
“You’ve created an ice cream that can blow up walls?” asked Kog incredulously.
Caesersalad rolled his eyes, “We’ve got a lot of work to do.” He moved over to the next room.
“What d’you mean ‘a lot of work’?” Kog followed him.
Caesersalad opened a less ornate door than the one that lead into the prep room. Also this room was smaller, only about 50 feet by 100 feet.
Kog’s eyes swept the walls of the room. They were covered with bulletproof vests of different colours and sizes.
Caesersalad walked the length of the room and hooked down a luminous black vest to match Kog’s scale colour.
“What’s this?” asked Kog as he caught the object out of the air.
“It’s a vest, what did you think it was?” Kog took this as a rhetorical question and followed Caesersalad into an adjacent room.
“This is the shooting range, here you will discover the full use of the magnum that you are currently playing with.” Kog replaced the gun in its holster guilty. “Put your vest on and put these on as well. Kog put on the goggles and ear-muff-like-things that Caesersalad gave him. “Now give me the magnum.”
“Um, I ate it…” said Kog, studying the floor.
“I meant the gun.”
“Oh” Kog blushed and handed the gun over.
“Stand behind that line and watch.” Caesersalad stood forward and aimed at a cardboard cut out that was a metre in depth.
The bullet tore through the cardboard leaving much destruction in its wake and exited out the back and imbedded itself in the wall. Caesersalad did this several times, each time the bullet embedded itself in the back wall, next to the previous one. He reloaded the gun and passed it to Kog. “Your turn.” He told him with a slightly evil smile as he handed the gun back.
Kog took up position where Caesersalad had stood and took aim. The recoil threw his arm backwards. Kog froze. He very slowly moved his arm. It appeared to be ok. He tried again.
He was ready for the recoil this time and it only shook him slightly. The bullet entered the cardboard cut out to the right of the left shoulder. Not a wonderful shot.
He tried again, this time aiming between the legs. As the bullet entered, Kog heard Caesersalad wince as it tore through the cardboard.
Caesersalad tapped him on the back, “Aim for the heart.” Kog nodded his head and took aim.
The bullet ripped through the right shoulder. Kog tried several times, adjusting his aim each time. After three hours Kog was able to hit the heart ninety percent of the time.
Caesersalad removed his headgear and pulled the magnum off of Kog.
Kog was reluctant to let go.
“Well done, you will be doing this, amongst other things, until you are one hundred percent, even with moving targets, and partially hidden targets. I suggest you go and get some sleep. You need to be up and dressed at 5.55.”
“Am?!”
“Yes, in the morning, I shall get Barticus to direct you to your rooms.”
A small komodian stepped through the door and bowed to Caesersalad. He then beckoned Kog to follow him and left the room. Kog hurried after him.

Kog awoke early the next morning to the sound of someone banging on his door. He pulled himself out of bed and stumbled over to the door.
“You were told to be up by 5.55. It is now 6.30.” Caesersalad instructed him. “This will not do.”
Kog nodded mutely and hurried to get ready. He ran after Caesersalad down the endlessly twisting corridors into a new room.
The gym.
Kog hated this room when he was at school.
Caesersalad left Kog in the care (or rather the presence) of a very well built Komodian.
Kog’s training carried on like this for several months.

Several Months Later.
Kog heard a polite knocking at his door and, curious as no one ever knocked politely around her, picked up his frying pan and opened the door slowly.
Caesersalad barged past him into his room and sat down. Before Kog could say anything Caesersalad said: “You are ready, come with me.”
