They grabbed her and forced her to the wall. They pinned her there with their rough hands and their rougher spirits. The men did what they wished with her, it didn't matter. She was a criminal. They beat her, and bruised her. They scarred her and abused her. When they were done, they cut off her long blonde hair, and ripped off what was left of her tattered clothes. They carried her to the center of the square and tied her to a pole. And beneath the medieval sky, they stared into her broken soul through her crying blue eyes as she burned...
"Omigosh..." Tessa breathed, staring wide eyed at Mia. "No way!" She sat in front of her friend, inches from her face. Her brown hair, usually neatly combed in layers around her face and chin, stood messily on end, and her face lacked it's usual faint amount of makeup. She wore pajama bottoms and a small tank top, showing off the light sprinkling of freckles that fell across her shoulders and upper arms.
"Yes way!" Mia said triumphantly. "I heard it straight from my older sister. The school is DEFINANTLY haunted by the girl's ghost!" She grinned, then glanced at the clock. Almost midnight. Her long, near-black hair was pulled into a pony tail, and her glasses had been set aside for the night. She was wearing an over sized T-shirt and a pair of loose shorts, who's green-blue color set off the brightness of her green eyes.
"And so?" Tessa asked. She shivered and wrapped her arms around her shoulders. All she wanted to do was crawl under the covers and go to sleep, but Mia wouldn't let this sleepover end so boringly.
"So, we're gonna free her!" Mia cried, her grin only widening. "The legend ends saying that because the girl was unfairly accused of being a witch and burned, her ghost will still haunt the place where she was burned! Which..." She paused, and reached into a bag by her side. The young girl pulled out a map of R. E. Crater High. Crater was the highschool in the town of Johnsonsville, and this was going to be Mia and Tessa's first year there. Grade Ten, they knew, would be their best year yet. And leave it to Mia to somehow start it off with witchcraft. "Which was right here." She pointed to a spot of the first floor. It was a classroom, which was always empty for no apparent reason. This only further prooved the legend.
"Free her? How exactly are we supposed to do that?" Tessa said, scoffing and trying to sound as though she wasn't intrugued. But her actions betrayed her, as she stood and began to rumage through her bag for her ninja sneaking gear. She smiled to herself as she saw Mia beginning to get dressed as well.
"Just walk up to her, and say a spell demanding the chains of times free her tortured soul!" Mia cried, and walked to her door. "Now shh... If we get caught, we're dead!"
