2007-01-18 ~*Lonely Wanderer*~: Again, a fine choice to add to your works. This is most likely my favorite piece :) 2007-03-07 Ravendust: Wonderful second part.[Hiarhu]: 631.Together

Watching the mass of humanity moving about their daily lives
But he does not see them
All he can see now is her
Her eyes, her skin
All he can hear is her voice, the sound of her laughter
The cold wind tears at him
But all he can feel is the memory of what it felt like to hold her
He remembers brushing her tears away on that night
He does not know why she made her choice
All he knows is that he failed her
He was not there when she needed him the most
He was not there to tell her
Tell her that the lies brought to her by the wind were indeed lies
Below they begin to notice him
But he does not know nor care
He replays her funeral in his heart
He watches himself facing her mother
Listening to her hating him
Blaming him
He sees her eyes as she hears him tell her the truth
As she knows it to be true
Watches her legs give as the weight of the mistake falls on her
The anger of that room is destroyed
Replaced by pain beyond comprehension
He watches himself once more move to her side
Too late
He takes her hand one last time
Cold and stiff
He places her last rose upon the pillow that she will rest forever more
Though now his eyes are dry in his mind the gates break
He falls to his knees and sobs at her side
Too late
He is, as he was then, unaware of the passage of time
He does not know nor care how long he knelt beside her then
His mind is blank of all that happened after
The memories shattered and replaced by pure suffering
He gives a noise, both a laugh and a sob
Suffering…
He never could have known…
He knows now why she made her choice
Because of him
And now he makes his
Because of her
The wind howls
The street approaches
But all he hears is her laughing with joy as he comes back to her
All he sees is her open arms welcoming him back
Understanding and forgiving
It will never be known what he would have felt next
What he would have seen
For his time ran short
All that is known…
Is that he died with her name upon his lips
As he believed she did with him…
