The daylight breaks through gray skies
And litters the floor like God's eyes.
The blackened forest is blessed
With the rays of torridity.
Burned away are the shades like a sin,
And the most marvelous sight, one that none of my kin
Can recall or deny.

The daylight pours in through gray cracks,
As if renewing ancient black with youthful white.
The silently strong beam smacks
Upon the the ground with unrivaled might.
My kin once lived in fright,
But the day now burns away the night.
