Remember when I was at my worst?
I did not share hope in love,
I could not share hope in love.
But all at once, you took me by surprise,
forced this dying flame to rise,
you shared in crying eyes,
and then wiped tears away.
You held me in your arms as your own,
now I'm yours, now I'm yours.

Remember when, just past December?
I did not care for hopes,
for all hopes were shattered
And I was left, battered.
But all at once you took me by the hand,
pointed toward the land and said, "it's safe."
You shared in crying eyes,
and then pushed my fears away.
You held me in your arms as if I were yours,
And now I'm yours.

Oh, I have so much to thank you for.
I have so much to be thankful for.

Remember when my dreams had all left me?
You were there, before so many who
didn't seem to notice, didn't seem to worry.
And darling you held me through the night.
You kept away my frights.

Remember when my heart had left me?
You helped me search, but it did not return.
And so you took it upon thee,
and gave your heart to me, and we became one.
And darling you held me through the frights,
you took the cold, dark lonely nights.

You planted me, you watched me sprout.
You watered me from your fountain and
I grew and grew, only toward you.
And now I have my strength
Again, you brought me life, you let me live.

Remember when I held you close?
Whispering what you showed me:
a thing that had betrayed,
it had blown me away.
Far from home,
far from friends,
I thought I'd never rise again.
But on that night we held eachother,
and on that night I confessed it.
I love you, and you love me just the same.
