       Love/Hate

I fill the absence of my days
With thoughts of when you’re near;
Life is a monochrome of grays
Because you are not here.

The ache that’s constant in my heart
Pervades my waking hours.
I want you, need you in every part
As seeds need warm spring showers.

I love you and I hate you both
For causing me such pain.
I'd leave you, yet I am loath
To be alone again

Although alone is what I feel
When you are far away
Sometimes I think this isn’t real
Living in this way.

Every day I die inside
When I recall my vow
I have no tears, they’ve all been cried
Goodbye, it’s over now.
