April 2007 Five Words Contest

There is a neighbourhood cat, a lovely creature, white with brown markings, who has adopted us as his. He waits on the back deck outside the kitchen door, rubbing his scent glands on the screen, rewarding whomever greets him with a warm purr and a playful kiss on the nose. We call him Suzie, even though that is not his name, and even though he is not female. We were befuddled by the eternal mystery surrounding where cats (especially neutered males) keep their sex organs. During the winter we missed his kittenish antics and plays for attention, but since spring thaw and the arrival of warmer weather, Suzie has returned, begging to be let in.
