For my regular stroll
From doorstep to sidewalk
It seems I hate this time though
Unsure of the night
Sounds that only look of black
I feel as if something’s following me
But it is not there
For it I cannot see
Fears stir in me
As I reach less populated areas
No witness who can see
Alone I am to be
Noises heighten
This thing is around
It mustn’t be there
For only it makes not a sound
Chills run as I can feel the eyes
Almost is like a glare
I breathe a deep sigh
Its dark advantage is unfair
The silent while is a relief
Me and my silly belief
I laugh and say
“Just my imagination. It’s ok.”
Walk a little further
The sound returns
But it was gone!
My thoughts echo unheard
Something runs by
Just a flash of gray sly
Shadows lay steady at my feet
Hardly a house undimmed on the street
I hear it again
And turn around to see
Hidden in the trees
Two golden eyes staring back at me
These eyes gleam
Shining bright as the moon
Only slits and their golden colored beams
I must make it home soon
Yet I walk on
Naïve to the world
Any dangers to be close
I will simply ignore
Then another flash
I feel fur brush my hand
Soft, warm, and thick
Was this an animal or man?
This time I turn around
A low odd shadow in the distance
It runs out of view
I want to go home
I take off in a jog
Through the thickening fog
But the original shadow creates
A wall to unmistaken
It stood in front of me
Slivers of light help me see
It stood there in pride
Meeting me eye to eye
Standing two feet tall
And four feet long
Eyes of gold and fur of gray
Teeth so fierce and claws of prey
It tilted its head
And let a howl
It split the darkness and the air
Light shone
To the evils it was a dare
It runs off when I dashed out
What was that thing? I think
Is it after me?
Am I going to die?
Not nearly back from where I came
The fears of this reality are all the same
Only I’m really to blame
For being here and now in this game
I hit hard on something large
And to the ground I fell
I look to see what I collided with
It looked like a demon straight out of hell
It grabbed my collar
And I gave a silent holler
He raised me up
Like I was a pup
I was pale with mortal terror
It raised a fist and struck me once
Directly upon my leg
Pain began to spread
He had an aura of his rage
He slammed me down
To a concrete ground
Stomped a colossal foot
The ground almost shook
He reached around into his pocket
His eyes darkened in there socket
He brought out his weapon of choice
Something that made me lose my voice
I cower and tremble
As this demons strength assembles
His finger lie on the trigger
Time never seemed so prolonged
He aimed his way
I had a final pray
Please God!
Don’t let it end this way!
Then as its answer
It arrived very quick
Cured of this seeming cancer
I was the first pick
A creature leapt out
I recognized it from before
The one who followed me down
The golden eyed one
Who was behind me from first step out the door
It was a wolf so proud and brave
He jumped to chest high
Hitting that devil so hard to take his breath enslave
Taking him down with his eyes to the sky
The wolf tore him down and left him hurt
He was motionless by the assert
Then my attacker lay back vanquished
There I may have another life banquet
His body fray in red flames
Back to hell he went
The wolf looked to me and bowed
I knew he was God sent
I was saved by this dog
This unheathen from away
Appeared so mysteriously
Yet in time to find me
It howled once more and galloped off
To a forgiving dark time
Away away away he left
It was so late of its prime
But I swear to you
As my friend the wolf bid farewell
I saw his wings become resilient
And a halo sound of a bell
He flew off
Back from which he came
He disappeared amongst the clouds
But never came back down
I rushed home
But alas
Would never forget what happened
For all the things I’ve ever done
I’ve still been forgiven
Safe at last and never again
Will I walk alone at night
I see life anew now
I was stalked by an angel
