It's time... Wake him up. A voice whispered just outside of the subconcious. It had been heard before... but who was it? There was no memory of a face... just the voice. Are you sure Doctor? He's still not ready for.. The voice faded to nothing as something waved over the mind. He was barely aware of where he was, who he was. He couldn't remember... how did he come into exhistance?

He felt weightless, but at the same time, so heavy. His mind reeled slowly, trying to wake itself up. Trying to open his eyes, they felt so heavy, as if they were stitched shut. Doctor! Come look at this! I... I think he's waking up! Another voice spoke, it echoed through his mind before he felt the darkness covering him once more. Fighting against it he tried to open his eyes once more, it was too much. Once again he slipped further from this strange place, alone once again to walk the halls of his mind. Who was he? Where was he? What had happened to him? There were no memories, there was no recollection.

The third time that his mind surfaced, he managed to open his eyes briefly. Through a mist of green he saw faces, distorted, stretched. His eyes slowly closed once more, a voice spoke, this time it was as the first. Thats enough.. he's ready. Get him awake. Something cool sunk into his body and a slight smile came over his face, he felt relaxed. Before long the feeling was gone. His body jolted and his eyes snapped open, his mind was awake.

Blinking he swirled his head around, his hair floating around him as he looked, realising where he was he blinked a few times. He was in a tank, he was sure of that. Looking out he saw many faces gathered, staring at him with open fish like faces. Though he knew, that he was the fish. Something was over his mouth. Looking down he saw a long tube leading from it and to the roof of this tank he was in, it was giving him breath. Blinking a few times he looked around once more before looking down at himself.

Wires, tubes and other things were connected to him, slowly his hands moved through the liquid and he touched himself. He had fur? What was he? Looking at his hand for a moment his mind asked him a question “Is this what I'm supposed to look like?” For the question, there was no answer. Voices spoke outside the tank but they were garbled. He squinted, trying to see these speaking beings. Reaching out his hand came in contact with glass, he blinked for a moment, looking at his hand then back to the outside world. Hearing something behind him he turned, seeing another being on the other side of the tank, but more importantly, seeing a massive black leathery bat like wing coming from back, his eyes widened at the sight of it, looking over his other shoulder he saw the other wing. What? Wings? What's happening? His mind asked quickly, again, there was no answer.

Hearing some more muffled voices his attention was turned away from his own body, looking outside he saw some of the disfigured beings at controls. A moment later he heard a loud click, the liquid around him began to descent, leaving the tank. His eyes watched the water lower, himself lowering at the same time. Finally his feet touched the bottom of the tank, the mask over his mouth suddenly broke free with a hiss, startling him, the wires and tubes coming from him suddenly all coming off with hisses clicks and slight pain, he staggered for a moment as the water slowly came down over his chest. His long red hair pressing against the back of his neck and face. Looking around in confusion as the liquid continued to lower. He felt his leg muscles tighten as they held his weight. He looked down at his nakedness, feeling no shame nor regret. Looking back up he saw the beings were all silent, all staring.

His fur plastered to his skin but his wings hung from behind him, large and ominous. So far he had not made a sound. Simply stood there in this massive tank, trying to come to grips with his own existence. Slowly he looked down at himself once again, he looked different this time... his fur was no longer floating around him, but pressed down. He became aware that he had muscle. A fair deal of muscle. Slowly he looked down at himself before his eyes rose once more to the blurred faces on the other side of the glass.

He flinched however when a voice suddenly clicked through a metallic speaker above him Everything's alright, you are okay. Congratulations... you are our first successful candidate. Successful candidate? For what? His mind raced for an answer but just as last time, there was nothing. Looking up at the speaker for a moment he slowly reached out, brushing his hand against it, his claws were extended without intention and he brushed them against the speaker. As he was lost in his own world for a moment, one of the figures came closer to the glass and gently tapped it. The creature quickly turned to the sound, his eyes watching the stretched face carefully. The being on the other side beckoned slowly. He watched the other figure carefully before slowly talking a few steps forwards, he was taller than the other by almost a foot. As he looked at the other being he slowly lowered himself down so they looked at each other face to face. It smiled. “We're going to let you out!” The being on the other side said loudly as to speak through the glass.

The big creature inside slowly nodded to the little one before standing straight as there was a hiss. The tank around him slowly moved apart, creating a doorway for him to step through, it continued to grow and grow. Slowly, the large beast stepped forwards and inspected the hole carefully before stepping outwards. Around him, there were a bunch of scientists and doctors, they all looked at him in shock and awe. He didn't like the way they stared. He looked at them all one by one, his muscles slowly flexing as he turned.

As his powerful eyes cast upon each of them their eyes widened. His eyes were almost glowing, power almost dripped out of these eyes as he scanned the room. His flawless fur sparkling in the light, dripping water slowly onto the floor as he stood before them. They had done it... they had created life.
