Story Line:
Kode is sent to kill the Baron, but fails. He and Baron become partners, Baron is now a cobbler. Later becomes a tailor. Baron keeps an eye out for Kode, in return, Kode does not kill Baron, and helps look out for him, as well.
Lotina's parents flee the castle during a revolt, they become farmers, and raise their daughter. When she is fifteen, her parents are killed, and at sixteen she heads out on her own. She keeps moving constantly, so as not to be recognized
Kode and Lot meet up, Kode is trying to rebuild his assassins' guild. He has three bases that can be ready to use at a moment's notice, and six that are currently unused. Slowly, he rebuilds his guild, starting with Lot, and ending up with 20 – 30 people being trained, including Savera's young daughter, Jera. A well-organized rebellion against the current government is discovered, and Lotina steps in to help out. This brings Kode into it, though he tries to stay out. Eventually, the rebellion overthrows the government, and they search for the “missing” ruler. Lotina does not step up until she is discovered by one of the higher-ups of the rebellion. She is known by then for her fair judgement, good leadership, and strong support from the mercenaries. Kode then becomes an unofficial spy for Lotina, and keeps good justice in the streets. Later, he is asked to go abroad, and set up “patrols” of his trained mercenaries in the major cities under Lot's rule. He checks out smaller cities and towns on his way, with Baron as his partner (a jack of all trades). Fin.
Savera and Baron get married, eventually.
