[Askoga]: 89.Poetry.My Brother

Written literally immediately after mass (I wrote it on the back of the program, while sitting in the pew, directly after mass ended), this is, of course, a religious poem. I swear, some of my best inspiration comes from mass. Here, I expressed a feeling I have had for a while now, that Jesus is my big brother, God my father. In a place where my family is very distant (about 1,000 miles or so), and I have few friends, this part of my family is much more important to me than ever before.

Who protects me.
Who forever will be
My precious brother.

He is my brother,
Savior, and friend,
With me to the end;
My awesome brother.

He is my brother;
My greatest family,
Loving both me and thee;
My dearest brother.

He is my brother
Great as our father
And to me ever closer—
My wond'rous brother.
