[Askoga]: 89.Poetry.The Worth

This is an older poem (like Stranger and I Love), but I feel that it deserves a bit of explanation. This was written when my young heart was in love, but when I thought of myself as less than nothing. It is not quite how I feel today.

Is worthless
Anything I give
Means nothing
Whatever I take
Will leave me

I have my life
It’s worthless
I give my heart
No meaning
I take your hand
It leaves me

You have my soul
It’s worthless
You give me meaning
There is none
You take my breath
It goes freely
