I don't know when I will be able to log back on to WritersCo. Last night my 3 year, daredevil managed to break a picture frame and stab the side of his foot with a half inch wide, six inch long piece of the glass. He was panicy, as was I, so when I attempted to pull the glass out, he started kicking and screaming and the tip of it broke off in his foot. He has to have surgery this morning to get the rest of the glass out and to repair the damage done to his vessle there. Poor little guy has been such a trooper. I am nervous about them putting him under but I realize it has to be done. I will have to keep a close eye on him for the next few days to keep him off of his foot, which is going to be near impossible for him!

I thought we had gotten all of the glass out so, we took the kids to Gatti Land last night, this little arcade/pizza place. He walked around on it all night! I feel so guilty but, I never dreamed that he would be able to run and play with such a large peice of glass lodged in his foot. I ended up taking him to the ER last night around 10:00pm because the blood just kept pooling under the skin and oozing out. I just knew there was something there but, everyone just kept telling me I was overreacting. Patrick and I both agreed to take him. He stayed home with the girls and I took him to the hospital. We didn't get home until almost 2am. I am exhausted and this day has only just begun!! I don't care to tell you that I am dreading this...

Pray for my baby!

Love you all,
sPam

Just a quick diary note to let everyone know that Xander is ok. In fact, he is doing much better than I ever expected. The waiting time and processing was a joke and took an inexcusiblae amount of time but that is another story. The important part is that Xander is ok. He came out of the anestesia just fine..It seems that the glass was deep but, it had also made it to the bone. Therefore, he will be on antibiotics for a while. Surprisingly, the surgeon said that he could carry on normal activity as long as it is comfortable for him....he has been bouncing off the walls ever since the anestesia wore off last nigt, LOL...

Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and support! I love you all!!

Hope to have time to gab soon, I have a ton of house work and things to catch up on from being so rushed these last few days.

I haven't logged on for a few days to either Elftown or WritersCo. Apparently, my phone was disconnected and my internet DSL disconnected due to nonpayment of a bill that I paid in full two days after I recieved it. After several days of fighting with the phone company, I got it turned back on without charges.

I located another local print company today called Classics. I have an appointment to discuss the printing of my book tomorrow. I know it will cost an arm and a leg so, I am thinking of starting out with a handful of copies of my first book only, just to see how they move. The first book Xander the Brave is only around 30 pages long, all of which are illustrated so I am looking at around $15.00 each for perfect bound, soft back. Which isn't too bad. If I sell them just a couple dollars above cost, I won't come out ahead but, at least someone might take notice...*sighs*

I suppose I can keep looking around and do some price shopping but, I am just so eager to get the ball rolling. I have a good chunk of cash saved back for this so why not...

I hate making decisions, I stink at it.

Ever just have one of those days? You know, one of those days that you can't really consider a bad day but, one where nothing really goes right either?

Haven't really accomplished a thing today, which is frustrating because I have been working all stinking day!! I got some new art supplies so, I am excited to try them out. Some things I purchased today, some my dad gave me.

The real kick in the bum, is that the printing company Excalibur that I had planned to use for my first run of my children's book, Xander the Brave went under and will be closing shop at the end of this month. Which means, I have to shop around for another printing press that can handle that kind of magnitude.

*sighs* They were the cheapest place around...Eh, what can ya do?

Some good news, however is that a friend of mine that works at the local News Paper, is going to see about running book 1 as a continuous story in the Images section. That would be so awesome!!

Today is a beautiful day!! Yes, it is 20 degrees and pouring the snow! But, it is so pretty! I took a walk around the yard and the treeline just to enjoy the snow for a while. It has been so long since we have had a good wintery day! I met a little friend in my yard...meet Mr. Woodpecker...

I know it is a bit blurry but, he was about 4o feet high.

*love and hugs to you all*

I am a 30 year old mother of three. Please treat me as such. I do not wish to be treated like the child that has done wrong and needs a time-out. It is very insulting, indeed.

Life has been quite hectic lately. The transplant center called us in for some updated information, I think it all went well. I still see the frustration in Patrick's eyes when they tell him he could stil be in for a long wait. I wish there was something more I could do to help reasure him that I am in this for the long haul.

As for my buisness, it is not taking off like I had planned. The guy I paid to design my web-page send my money back to me stating only, "Payment refunded". Evidently, he has dropped off the face of the planet. Soooo, back tot he drawing board. I had thought about trying to do it myself but, I don't know the first thing about web designs. Eh, no big deal I suppose. Just taking things slow.

I do my best not to be a drama queen. The last thing I want is to cause uneeded worry and stress on the people of WritersCo.

That said: Dear friends, when you ask my opinion of something in private conversation, it should remain exactly that...private.

I do not like having my concerns and or opinions exchanged in public forums and twisted to suit your needs.

I consider my time here in WritersCo a professional endeavour and do not take it lightly. I intend to keep doing everything I can, no matter how small and trivial, to turn this place into a haven for the future best-selling author.

So please, if you value my friendship, do not repeat parts of private conversations to others to suit your own purpose. Epsecially, do not twist those words and turn them into something they were not intended to be.

This message is to those with whom I converse in Elftown as well.

Thank you,
Pamela

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't abandoned this wonderful site nor its lovely Crew. The holiday shopping season has kicked off here in the states and I have been working unGodly hours at the shoppe lately. Hopefully that will change as they have hired a couple of newbs to lighten the load.

As of right now, I am suffering the flu (I think, never had this before) and quite miserable as well. So, just drop me a line if you need anything and I will do my best to get back to you within a decent amount of time.

love ya all,
SPam

Ever have one of those days when you feel, well...just plain unworthy? I have had one of those days. I got another rejection letter from a publishing company. I have been looking through art galleries of such greats as Howard Johnson, Alex Ross, and Pat Lee...so yeah, I have come to the realization that my fiction stinks and my art isn't much better. I know I am whining. Just need to do that right now. It somehow makes me feel better.

I sent my screenplay out to three more directors this week. I know I am dreaming. But, after I heard Bruce Campbell tell his tale of how long it took his first script to get going, I knew I had to try. I took the advice of a friend and just sent them on a whim....who knows, maybe some independent film company will think it is the best thing since sliced bread, LOL...

A frequent customer who rubs elbows with comic book writers and artists came into work yesterday. We were talking about making it big in the art and writing industry and how difficult it can be. He was bragging about he and his father were taking on a joint venture to start their own independent comic book company. They are loaded...worth somewher in the millions so it could happen.  He already has several comic book artists and writers (no one very well known so don't freak out) willing to come work for him. He offered me a chance to show off some of my work. He says that if he and the others involved like it enough they will contact me with further info when everything takes off.  I am going to use this week to work on my portfolio. He comes by every Wednesday to pick up his comic book folder. Who knows, maybe this could be my big break. I am sure my art isn't near what he is expecting so, I am trying to put together as much writing as possible. He says that he is already impressed with my children's book. Wish me luck!

I must say that last night I had the most bizarre dream of my life. It involved a hospital...The Chipmunks, Jason Statham, Elijah Wood, my oldest daughter and me....and it isn't what you think. I swear I woke up thinking, "hmmm, this must be what it's like to smoke crack"....
