Description:
Nothing but a Picture
A tarnished picture
Of your life, it may tone in
't may not
Thou normalcy, may never gain
Thou woe, may never gain
A tarnished picture, is just a picture
But if you would like
You can compare your life
To a tarnished picture, but
Keep in your mind, it is nothing but a picture

Tell us about yourself:
I am currently 16 years old, enjoying sports & life in general. I play guitar, write, read, football, track, and work with web / virtual designing. I mainly write poetry, but am also interested in working with short stories.
Who are your favorite authors and literary works?
Even though I read a lot, I don't pay much attention to the authors. I have read many great writings, so it is hard to pick out just a few. Mainly because of the style of the writer, and the style of writing he used.
Any other favorites?

Tell us about your writings:
I write poetry. I started to write when I was 12 years of age. It started when I forgot to write a short, free-verse poem for one of my younger literature classes. I ended up writing the poem in 5-10 minutes, while the other students were reading their poems aloud in the front of the class. When everyone else finished, I went up to read my work. Everyone figured it would be cheesy, crappy, nothing special, but they were wrong. The class was awestruck, and my teacher wrote on my poem's paper: "10/10; Keep writing!" Therefore, I kept writing :). That poem was also placed in the school weekly newsletter that very next week. One of my better poems, Nothing but a Picture, can be found in my writings section. This poem was written about a month after this late class assignment.
Do you have any tips for members?
Don't write upon pressure, don't force anything, yet don't stop writing, ever. Write down ideas as they come, no matter where you are. Who knows, maybe this idea will turn into a work of art once you get to your notebook & start sketching things down :)
Would you like to promote anything?
I have a writers forum being built right now, I may post the link at another time. For now, just read & comment my writings :)
