Some Down-time

WritersCo was unreachable from (21/06/06) to (22/06/06). Initially due to a powerfailure and then a change of IP.

Luckily WritersCo itself ([Krill]) has a UPS so the powerfailure didn't affect WritersCo at all, so all information was safe, the only downside was that the community couldn't be reached by the members.

Notice and Rotation

You can now add a personal notice after your name! Think of it as a way to subtly advertise your most recent piece of writing or to let everyone know that you’ll be away for the next few weeks, maybe you have started up a magazine and want submissions! Of course there always has to be a ‘But’ and so here is it:  We are sorry to say that we are going to be a bit strict on the usage of the notice feature, and if you want to start using it you should check out the updated rules at rules#notices

Image Rotation:

If you have an image uploaded to WritersCo that you wish to rotate you can now rotate it by using pseudo HTML.

Just use imgl, imgr or imga instead of img, and it will be rotated left, right or around.

Hide Status

By some act of a higher being there is now a link to the right that says 'Hide Status' Surprisingly when you actually click this link the WritersCo stats will all magically disappear, until you decide at some point to reveal them all again by clicking 'View more'.

Go on, we dare you to test it!

Member types, and new contests forum.

Members now have the option to select their member type. The options available are writer, reader, literary agent or publisher. You should select the one that is most applicable to your main purpose for being here. Though, really, you should not select a publisher/agent title if you are not a publisher/agent. Be grown-up about it.

The WC contests forum has sparked enough interest to deem it to be moved (or recreated rather) as one of the main WC forums. You can now join it from the forums page or by clicking here: <URL:view_forum.html?forumnr=12>
