I'm trying to write a synopsis for my book, and it's proving to be something of a... well, let's say that my desk now has an imprint of my head on the surface.

Does anybody have any thoughts, ideas, or advice about that particular process?

Keep it simple and keep it short :P

When I had to write a synopisis for my agent, I started with a short intro to the character, then brought in the main plot and how the character was related to that main plot, then finished off with what would happen in the end.

Try and avoid filling in all the juicy details of what happened and when, you are just telling the basic story in  as short a space as possible.

How about spacing, fontsizes, all of that nitpicking stuff? I think I've got a workable two pages on a 250,000 word book, and I just need to see about the details of it. Would I be correct in assuming double-spacing, 12 point font, or...?

Double spacing, 12, times new roman, is what I'm normally asked for.
