Keep it simple and keep it short :P

When I had to write a synopisis for my agent, I started with a short intro to the character, then brought in the main plot and how the character was related to that main plot, then finished off with what would happen in the end.

Try and avoid filling in all the juicy details of what happened and when, you are just telling the basic story in  as short a space as possible.
