“Can you blame me for being nervous about this?” A tall woman with shimmering blonde hair said. Her face was a little plump with luscious blue eyes. She raised her hand to her stomach and sighed. “I wasn’t sure how to react Jack; I know how much the farm meant to you.”

“Rose,” Jack said walking over to her and holding her in his tan arms, “I won’t leave everything we know just because you’re pregnant. A farm is a great place to raise a child. Come on, love, don’t be scared.”

Jack kissed her gently on her forehead and held her even closer. Rose wrapped her delicate arms around him and began to cry on his shoulder. “But the church…”

“Damn the church. Just because we don’t go doesn’t mean the child can’t be blessed. You know that. Anyway, as long as God knows that were married, there isn’t a problem.”

They just stood there for the longest time. They looked so happy.

Cassandra woke from her dream to feel a cold arm lying across her stomach; it was white, not tan. She turned to Jack, there he was still asleep, and not the tan she had seen in her dream. His face was filled, however, with the same concern. He was awake just staring at Marylin, Cassandra doubted if her even felt her sift her position. “Jack…”

“She nearly woke up once… but fell back asleep.” Jack said quietly.

Cassandra turned to the window, and saw that it was moring. “Have you been awake all night?”

“I suppose. Time really doesn’t affect me that much anymore, I don’t get tired, or hungry. I eat and sleep just to remember how if there is ever a cure.” He said. His eyes could be directly traced to her face. He sighed, “I had a box of clothes brought up for you. They’re sitting in a chest at the far end of the throne room.”

“I’ll go see if there’s anything to wear,” Cassandra said standing up slowly. “When I get back, I want you to join me for breakfast.”

“I told you I didn’t need to eat.”

“But I want you to; you need to get something to get your mind off her.” Cassandra said staring down at him. He looked up at her and smiled weakly and agreed. Cassandra walked out the door and went into the throne room and started towards the far corner where a large dusty chest lay. A mound began to form behind the chest and she stepped back.

The mound grew into the form of a woman made of snow. She smiled through her snow lips. “Hello your Highness, I am Isa the snow maiden, Jack made me to serve you as you hand maiden.”

“Hello Isa, I am looking for a dress to wear for breakfast right now, but I may need help getting it on, is there a way I can call you if I do need help?” Cassandra said taking another step back to get a through look at her.

“Take this bell,” Isa said holding her arm out to reveal a bell made of ice. “You can call me wherever you need me and it shaln’t melt.” Isa smiled once more and faded into the floor. Cassandra shrugged not knowing what to expect next and opened the chest carefully. She pulled out four or five blankets and finally found all the clothes. She pulled out dress after dress; they were all about her size and were the kind you’d be proud to say you owned. Cassandra reached the bottom and couldn’t really find anything she liked.

Flinging her hand up, it hit the bottom of the chest top, which fell out. The dress that stumbled into her lap was simple and blue; it had pearls sown into it with lace. It was the dress Jack’s first wife was wearing in her dream.

She wanted to wear this one to see what would happen next. Cassandra picked the dress up and walked slowly to her room across the way. Cassandra walked in to find that there was a newly made mattress on her bed and three little girls sleeping in it. A note was attached to one of the bed posts.

I visited while you were asleep with the girls. I thought they would like to see you at your wedding but I just showed up to late. I hope the mattress will be a suitable wedding gift. The girls wanted to stay, if they get annoying, just send them to me and I’ll watch them, after all, I raised fourteen girls of my own. Mother

Cassandra smiled and looked down at them, they were all curled up into little balls and smiling. She quickly change clothes and went to the side of the bed. “Gina… Regina… Kristine… Come on girls, it’s time to wake up.”

They tossed a bit and then fell back asleep. Cassandra used the bed posts to grow vines to shake the girls awake. “Get up and greet the day you three.”

When the vines lunged the girls into the air the all woke up and looked over at her. Cassandra had her arms crossed at her chest with a smirk on her face. “Does Marylin really let you sleep in this late?”

“Yes…” The three said sleepily in unison. “But she gives us a lot to do each day too.” Kristine added. The vines lowered the girls and they stood up to look at her. “Can we have breakfast Mistress?”

“Of course, why don’t you stay here and can up a bit though, there’s a mirror over there in the wall.” Cassandra pointed to a large flat area in the kind of oval shaped room. The girls rushed over and started to comb their hair with their fingers.

“You ice demon!” They heard shriek from another room.

“You know this is how I met your mother!” She heard Jack’s voice yell with a hint of laughter. Cassandra rushed out of the room the girls on her tail as they entered Jack room to find Marylin awake and throwing large fireballs at everything.
