“Something’s burning.”
Judy looked up the wooded hill at the steady column of grey smoke.
“What in the world is he doing up there?” Judy’s friend, Hannah, asked.
“You know my little bro,” Judy laughed, “probably roasting a rabbit or something.”
Judy went back to pitching her blue and yellow tent, but Hannah looked up the hill, worriedly.
“You know I could use some help here,” Judy said. “Don’t worry about Mikey. He’ll be fine, unlike you, if you don’t get over here now.”
Hannah sighed and turned to help Judy.
An hour later, Mikey still hadn’t returned and both girls were starting to get nervous.
