Fear

The days are too long for my liking.
Moments to far in between.
Whenever I see you come closer,
I know I'm awake in a dream.

There's nothing I don't want to share
But everything I can't seem to tell you.
The emotions and wishes I harbour inside
So vehemently hoping will come true.

You're the flame ignited inside me,
The shiver sliding to my toes,
But despite all of the passion you evoke
A barrier continues to grow.

So tell me, why did you leave me?
I don't know where to go from here.
If only heaven were closer,
There wouldn't be so much to fear.
