Shattered Dreams

Shattered dreams.
They flit into oblivion
Almost as fast as they formed
Leaving nothing but traces
To trip us
Sending us reeling back
Into the crevice of pain.

Can we ever emerge?
Hope would deem yes
But do we want to?

Wallowing seems to pleasant now.
Reliving each moment.
Understanding more fully it's worth.
Precious is a person's memory
And this will be why,
Because sometimes
That's all we have.
