Sprunging Spring!

Spring has sprung!
The grass is... well brown
And the trees are still bare
But the scents in the air!

The birds fly around
And there's ice on the ground.
The snow still blows
And the drain's are all froze.

But the gophers emerge,
Their sharp whistles converge.
The skunks bear the cold
As crocuses explode.

The killdeer cry death
While the geese honk distress.
The robins shout worm
Wanting spring to return.

The creeks gargle glee
While ice chunks break free
And you know it's begun,
Springs finally sprung!
