I Wonder...

I wonder why people werent born with wings I should have been born with wings I dont like being kept on earth down on the ground trapped in my body with no where to go besides down then back up oh why cant feathers sprout from my shoulder blades then rise to take me above the clouds allowing me to defy gravity to escape the sorrows of my life and take joy in the wind blowing through my hair and the freedom I feel let the eagles escort me to my hidden glory of flight and let me feel the bonds that pull me back down strain and fall to the ground broken while I fly higher and higher laughing at my ability maybe I could even fly under water because I can hold my breath forever flying through the water and clouds of bubbles humming to the whales and fish fighting off sharks and playing with dolphins leaping through the water back to the sky and breathing free without anyone telling me not to im free Im Free IM FREE the gulls gliding behind me reveling within my slipstream and crying out their own song to match mine as my fingertips and wingtips just barely slip through the water as I fly because well I should have been born with wings
