A sculpture… watching the night,
Movement in the brush,
A mouse; pouncing,
A shadow of a life form the insect,
Smoky dust coating the whiskers,
Paws stained with powder,
Glowing ash,
Unfurling of silver ghost wings,
Pale face jerking, bronze eyes flash,
So goes the life of things,
That live during the night,
A testament, a witness,
Either hunting or hunted,
The life of a beast,
In the shadow,
Nocturnal.
