Make Believe

Make believe that tales are true
And fairies watch the things you do
Make believe that stories stay
And are still real by break of day

Make believe that knights will duel
And justice will defeat the cruel
Make believe that maidens' mark
Their presence with song like a lark

Make believe that toads can talk
And watch for dragons as you walk
Make believe that stars can speak
And mermaids might swim up creek

Make believe that luck does live
And daughter's hand a king will give
Make believe that magic might
Be used against an endless night

Make believe that cats have creeds
And wizards curse you for bad deeds
Make believe that for your faith
A family member might stay safe

Make believe for in the end
Imagination is your friend
Make believe and then you'll see
