Lycera had never really found her true place. Until now. Now when she had found this strange power deep inside her. She had found it by an accident. She was wandering in the woods nearby... from what her mother always complained.
" You should stay in the village, Lycera. There are all kinds of wild animals in the woods."
That's what her mother always told her. And Lycera never listened.

She was walking there on that sunny autumn afternoon when suddenly it happened. Just like that. The world suddenly seemed to spin faster. She felt dizzy and fell down on her knees. When she opened her eyes Everything looked different. Colours had changed and the woods looked bigger. Lycera was confused. And then she saw a wolf coming to her. She wasn't frightened. She got scared then when she heard the wolf talking to her.
" Hey you. Are you new here? You smell like one."
" Yes... I'm new."
" Great. I've been looking for a friend. In our tribe there's no wolf who’s the same age as I. All are too old or too young."
" That's a pity." Lycera had realised that she had turned into a wolf. Why that happened and how, she didn't know. But she found the transformation very good indeed.
" Come let's run."

And then they ran. Lycera enjoyed that feeling of race extremely fast.
And then she realised that she should be home already.
" I must go now. I'll see you tomorrow."
" That's fine. Good bye my friend!"
And Lycera ran back and turned back to a wolf. Something had just clicked to it's right place in her head and now she new exactly how to control her power.

She finally saw that all. It was her destiny to be a wolf. That's why she had to run off from home. Lycera had decided that. She appreciated her parents for offering her a place where to live and giving food. But she always had thought that she should be somewhere elsewhere.
Early next morning Lycera left her home. The sky was clear sun was just about to rise.
Lycera ran to the woods and turned into a wolf.

They ran together, Lycera and the wolf. They were going to meet the rest of the pack.
Lycera was accepted to the pack. Now she finally had a place where she belonged. That autumn was the happiest time in her life. And then came the winter.

The pack survived pretty well despite the snow and coldness. Until the villagers came. People in the village where Lycera had also lived were worried about wild beasts and wolves of the woods nearby. They didn't want that the wild animals would come out and kill their herds.

It was a huge chase. All men from the village took their spears and bows and began to chase the wolves.
Lycera soon got lost from the other packmembers and was all alone. There was this one man chasing her, actually her father, but Lycera didn't know that. She only knew that she had to run. Run as fast as she could.

The man tightened his grip from his spear and then threw it.

Lycera kept running until the great wave of pain rolled over her and she fell down. The source of the pain was right under her left shoulder blade.
In Lyceras eyes the world seemed to be veiled with some kind of bright white mist. Behind that she could see only shapes and shadows.
Something was teared off from her body and she was left up. And then finally darkness won and all ended.

The man who had killed Lycera, her own father returned to the village with the dead body of his own daughter.
He grieved his lost daughter with his wife but never found out what really had happened.
That's why he thought that wolves had killed Lycera and never forgave that.
