A barren plain stands
What is left of me
After such demands
As to destroy all I see

I am ruined, I am raw
Exposed to the soul
Betrayed for what I saw
A sanity not quite whole

I see what seems me
A reflection of my life perhaps?
A vision of what could be
A sight of moral collapse

Destruction, death, pain
Things I see in you, in me
A life of silent disdain
A power evil set free

Where do our similarities end
How do I banish my fears?
I have tattered pieces to mend
Hindered by my tears

What do you see
In all your cruel glory
Please, leave me be
Leave me from your story

I am not a part of you
I am solely myself
Payment for debt is far overdue
Put your anger on a shelf

Plague me no more
I am tired of this ache
All I ask is release from war
That follows in your wake

Be happy, be at peace,
This is my prayer
I want all hate to cease
Free me from my despair
